The Benefits of Breast Augmentation

Some women naturally have breasts with little to no volume, which can have a life-long negative impact on their self-esteem. Others find that their breasts have lost volume following pregnancy or weight loss and appear empty or deflated. A lack of breast volume can prevent you from having the projection or cleavage you desire. Implant size, profile, and placement all work together to provide you with either the subtle or dramatic volume increase that is ideal for you.
Women often notice that their breasts lack a defined shape and attractive definition. Breast asymmetry is also common as a result of genetics. Implants are designed to create definition and improve the shape of the breasts to provide a more youthful breast appearance that complements your natural appearance.
When you struggle to find clothing that fits properly or don’t feel secure in your appearance, it can be difficult to find confidence in yourself. Women who struggle to accept the size of their breasts may find that enhancing their breast size helps improve their self-image. Gaining a boost in confidence helps many women feel happy and comfortable in their bodies.

Implant Placement

Above Muscle

Implants are placed under the glandular tissue but over the pectoral muscles. This process can help provide a minor lift to sagging breasts and creates more fullness in the upper pole of the breasts.

Below Muscle

Implants are placed under both the glandular tissue and the pectoral muscles. This creates a more gentle and natural breast slope and helps mask the implant edges.

Dual Plane

The implants are placed under the glandular tissue, and the upper portion of the implants are placed under the pectoral muscles. This achieves a more natural breast slope while providing a minor lift to the breast tissue.

Incision Type

Transaxillary Incision

The incisions are placed in the armpits, resulting in no visible scarring on the breasts. This technique is only available for the placement of saline implants.

Periareolar Incision

An incision is created around the outer edge of the areolas and may result in mild visible scarring.

Inframammary Incision

The incision runs along the lower breast crease and may result in visible scarring if there is little lower breast tissue.

Transumbilical Incision

An endoscope is inserted through the belly button and used to place saline implants. Results in zero visible scarring.

Immediately following your surgery, you will experience bruising and swelling around your breasts. A specialty compression garment should be worn to help minimize excess swelling. It is important to carefully follow your postoperative instructions to ensure quality healing and the best results possible.

Diet is an important factor in your healing process. It is necessary that you provide your body with the essential vitamins and nutrients it needs to heal following your surgery. Your diet should consist of protein, healthy fats, vegetables, and fruits. However, a diet of soft foods may be best immediately following your surgery because of the side effects of the general anesthesia. A detailed list of healthy, nutrient-packed foods will be provided for you before your surgery.
Patients will be required to limit their physical activities following their procedure. You will need to rest for several days after surgery. Most patients return to work two weeks after their procedure. You can resume your regular exercise routine sometime between four and six weeks post-surgery. You shouldn’t smoke for at least six weeks following your procedure.
You will be prescribed medications to take on a routine basis following your surgery. KEFLEX® and CIPRO® (ciprofloxacin) are antibiotics used to prevent infection. Flexeril™ and Valium® are muscle relaxers used to reduce discomfort. Pain medication may also be used to relieve any additional discomfort you may feel during your recovery. medication
