What to Expect After Your Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure

shutterstock_13285045Some women, especially mothers, feel like they lost their femininity the moment they gave birth. Because the female genitalia can feel a little loose, many think that they are now incapable of giving pleasure to their husbands and to themselves, as well. This problem led to the innovation in plastic surgery known as vaginal rejuvenation.

Be comfortable in your own womanhood

A vaginal rejuvenation procedure is major plastic surgery, and there are risks and downtime involved. Before undergoing the procedure, you need to know what you’re going to deal with during recovery. Here are the important things to take note of while you are healing.

Immediately after vaginal rejuvenation

Once the procedure has been completed and you are fully stable, you will be allowed to go home. Expect to experience some minor discomfort during the first few days. Your surgeon will prescribe medications that will help ease the pain. Antibiotics are also prescribed to reduce your risk of infection. Swelling is to be expected on the treated area, but can be alleviated with ice packs for the first 24 to 72 hours.

Going through the first few days

After resting for about three to five days, most patients are able to return to work. However, it is important to do everything gradually, so as not to put too much stress on your body. Strenuous activity will need to wait for about three weeks.
